The vessel
ran into the rocks off Point Cypress, just after midnight. After
discovering that the hull had been opened up, the Capt. ordered
three a distress signals be sounded from the ship's whistle. At
0230, the Capt. ordered the crew to abandon the vessel. At 0330,
the Capt., and two remaining crewmen left the vessel. The abalone
fishing vessel Normandie, picked up all the survivors.
