Santa Rosa is the second largest of the northern Channel Islands. This island is known for its windswept sandy beaches, rocky terraces and vast grasslands. The marine life associated with Santa Rosa Island exhibits a more northern influence than Anacapa and Santa Barbara Islands. Fish and invertebrates are abundant and diverse. The colorful rockfish make excellent photographic subjects. The waters surrounding Santa Rosa Island are characterized by rocky pinnacles and amber kelp forests just waiting to be explored.
