Management Plan Review

The National Marine Sanctuaries Act requires that each national marine sanctuary review its management plan to:
* Evaluate substantive progress toward implementing management plans and goals;
* Evaluate the effectiveness of site-specific management techniques and strategies;
* Determine necessary revisions to management plans; and,
* Prioritize management objectives.

Since the 1992 Congressional reauthorization of the National Marine Sanctuaries Act the National Marine Sanctuary Program has been working to review each Sanctuary's management plan at five-year intervals. Information explaining the Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary management plan review process is available through the links at the left. All projected dates are estimates subject to change. This information will be updated bi-monthly.
