The
CINMS MERITO program offers paid internships to bilingual (Spanish-English)
Graduate or Undergraduate students. The goal of this sub-program
is to encourage and mentor students of Hispanic or of other cross-cultural
backgrounds to pursue careers in marine sciences. Paid interns
will assist CINMS MERITO staff to convey sanctuary messages to
non-English speaking audiences targeted in the various MERITO
sub-programs. Duties include assisting at the Hispanic community
events, assist during MERITO Academy field activities, Hispanic
adult education presentations, environmental cartoon or art contests
planning, event logistics, implementing the MERITO Academy Educators
Workshop, and entering data to evaluate the various strategies.
