NATURE OF CASUALITY

The vessel stranded near La Push while outward bound from Puget Sound with a cargo of scrap metal. Although the vessel was a total loss, most of the cargo was salvaged by Morrison-Knudsen Co. of Boise, Idaho, which purchased the wreck from the underwriters.

Upon completing the removal of the cargo, the contractor salvaged what they could of the Temple Bar's hull which had been reduced to scrap value.
